Welcome to TIDD and the World of Industry Discounts
The original paper version of the Travel Industry Discount Directory (TIDD) first appeared back in 1998 when I was a Qantas Duty Manager at Cairns Airport.
It listed about 20 hotels in Cairns, however it wasn’t long before I was getting requests for other destinations and so followed the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne. The internet was still in its early days and in February 1999 I created a basic website replicating the pamphlet.
Move ahead 24 years and TIDD is still going strong with listings for thousands of hotels worldwide. After 28 years service I retired from QF in 2013, but I still love to travel and I enjoy running TIDD just as much as I did back in 1999.
Today’s version of TIDD allows you to easily browse genuine hotel travel industry rates by destination, compare the various hotel industry rates and then make a booking using special pre-loaded TIDD codes in the hotel’s own reservation booking engine.
